Our Physician Program
MEDITECH partners with physicians in a myriad of ways through our Physician Outreach program. Our targeted, physician-centric programs aim to provide opportunities for education, for networking within the MEDITECH physician community, and for providing input into our product development process.
MEDITECH recognizes the critical role that physician leaders play in the successful implementation and utilization of electronic health records. Because physicians are ultimately responsible for the coordination of patient care, they have a vested interest in the adoption of efficient tools to improve care and patient outcomes.
In recognition of the pivotal role that physicians play, MEDITECH has been hiring physicians to participate in the implementation, education, adoption, research, development, and ongoing optimization of physician targeted EHR functionality. We currently have 16 physicians working with our staff and customers in these various capacities, as well as many more who work with us as needed on content development and special projects. It is important to note that the MEDITECH physicians working with our customers are practicing physicians, physicians who use the MEDITECH system themselves and have led implementation and adoption projects.
The programs that you will read about on our physician connection page, as well as just about every aspect of the work that we are currently doing with, and for, physicians has sponsorship and involvement from our physician team.
We encourage you to learn more about what our physician programs can offer you and your colleagues, to participate in programs that target your needs and to network with your peers.
By partnering with MEDITECH, you have the opportunity to:
Meet Our Physician Team
MEDITECH employs physicians on full-time, part-time, and consulting bases to assist in our Development, Implementation, Service, and Marketing efforts. Our physician team members serve an invaluable role in shaping our EHR development and deployment, as well as telling the MEDITECH story to other physicians in sales settings. To “meet” our team, please see our directory of physicians.
*Please note: Due to the confidentiality of our physician team members, this page is password protected. Please contact your IS staff to obtain your MEDITECH user name and password.
Focus Groups
Would you like the opportunity to offer feedback on MEDITECH’s latest development efforts? Our Development team hosts Focus Groups with our customer physicians, which are regular sessions organized to garner qualitative input on our product design and functionality for both existing and new products.
For each Focus Group, we collect customer feedback on a scheduled basis throughout all stages of development, including the design, test, and release processes. As development progresses, Focus Group members have the opportunity to see and provide feedback on the evolution of our products. This routine collaboration between MEDITECH and Focus Group members leads to products which enhance customer workflow and the quality of patient care.
Focus Groups typically meet once a month for an hour via a WebEx conference call. There are no contracts required and participation is voluntary. Focus Group members can select which sessions best fit their schedules and are not required to attend a specific number of sessions. The Design Phase of a typical Focus Group will last about 12 months.
Once you are signed up for a specific group, you will receive an invitation to sessions related to your topics of interest, as well as a monthly blast with general updates about the initiative. WebEx details for a specific session will be accessible after sign-up. During the call, a lead developer will present concepts within mock-up slides. Feedback will be solicited to address specific questions related to the proposed design. For more information on MEDITECH’s Focus Groups, as well as information on how to join, please visit our Focus Group webpage.
Click Reduction Initiative
MEDITECH has launched a Click Reduction Initiative to help streamline the navigation of our software and reduce the number of clicks required to perform your daily tasks. The first phase of our initiative focused on physician workflow. Check out the results of this effort, including tips on navigating the software and code changes on our Click Reduction webpage.
