October 23, 2014 - MEDITECH is excited to announce the redesign of its Home Care implementation methodology. New Home Care customers will now receive a READY project plan that more closely aligns with MEDITECH’s 6.x READY plan.
“Having a READY implementation plan for Home Care enables us to provide healthcare organizations with a familiar framework across all MEDITECH departments,” says Linck Schlich, MEDITECH home care coordinator. “The core plan and phases are similar, helping to bridge the gap between the acute and home care settings.”
The new Home Care READY implementation plan consists of three phases, including design and planning, build and train, and a transitional go-LIVE phase, which includes post-LIVE optimization functions. Since both home health and hospice are considered episodic-based care, flexibility is built into the go-LIVE timeline.
“Our customers work in an area of healthcare that has very structured payment systems, and there are specific guidelines and regulations surrounding documentation and charting for each service and care transition,” explains Schlich. “Because the structures differ between home health care and hospice care, this plays into how we map out each customer’s go-LIVE.”
And, much like the 6.x READY plan, the Home Care READY formula consists of a team-oriented approach. “Our implementation method also focuses on standard content and best practices, as well as built-in integration testing during training,” adds Schlich.
Benefits include: “We continue to work diligently to refine and streamline our processes,” Schlich adds. “We want to make things easier for our customers, so that they can get back to the business of providing quality care for their patients.”
