MEDITECH Home Care 2.5 Point-of-Care & Administrative Enhancements

In part three of MEDITECH’s four-part Home Care 2.5 Enhancement series, we share some exciting information about our point-of-care and administrative enhancements.

These enhancements include improvements to OASIS management processes, OASIS and 485 data validation, standing orders and orders sets, and synchronization improvements.

Management of OASIS Assessments
  • Users have the ability to audit OASIS assessments before they are encoded.
  • A new billing condition also holds the claim until the OASIS audit is complete.
OASIS Data Validation
  • Integrity checks between key non-OASIS and OASIS data elements at the point-of-care are now available.
485 Data validation
  • Integrity checks warn the user if key fields on the 485 are not documented on Time Points 1 & 4 at the point-of-care.
Standing Orders (Hospice) and Order Sets (Home Health)
  • Users have the ability to easily add predefined physician orders to the patient chart.
Synchronization Improvements
  • 3rd party attachments (485, Continuity of Care Document, Referral packet, images, and other agency-defined documents) are now available at the point-of-care.
  • Clinicians are also able to import one single chart from the field onto their field device.
Improved Attachments Management
  • Enhanced categorization and filtering of attachments makes the management and location of all attachments more streamlined.
ICD-10 Practice task
  • This new task allows agencies to practice inputting ICD-10 codes in preparation of the ICD-10 launch in October 2014.
