Ready, Set, Learn!

MEDITECH’s Clinical Leadership Preparedness Program (CLPP) is an educational series designed to prepare healthcare organizations for an upcoming MEDITECH 6.x Advanced Clinical Systems implementation.

The CLPP was developed exclusively for physician leaders and the clinical executive team to provide the knowledge and toolkit necessary for a successful implementation. It is an integral part of the MEDITECH READY Implementation plan, which focuses on Rapid Adoption, Evidence Based, Advanced Workflows, Dedicated Team, and Your Success.

Our CLPP education series features a 16-course program that is coordinated by members of MEDITECH’s Physician Consultant Team who have years of advanced clinical implementation experience. Through a combination of seminars, discussions, site visits, webinars, and full-day courses, attendees learn the concepts and skills necessary for successful adoption and deployment of the MEDITECH EHR.

Recently, we hosted a CLPP session with several customer organizations embarking on their 6.x journey. Over 50 physicians, executives, and clinical leaders from these organizations came to our Framingham facility for the three-day seminar.

During the seminar, MEDITECH Physician Consultants K. Nadeem Ahmed, MD and Laurence Spector, MD, along with Bryan Bagdasian, MD, and William Gustin, MD, facilitated interactive group exercises with the participants, mapping out their current processes and offering personalized assessments to help them identify areas of improvement well in advance of their go-LIVE timeframe.

MEDITECH customer Marc Dreier, MD, Emergency Medicine Physician for The Valley Hospital (Ridgewood, NJ) found the CLPP sessions very valuable to attend, even as a long-time user of the MEDITECH MAGIC system:

“The Clinical Leadership Preparedness Program was a fantastic introduction to the building blocks that are required to get a clinical systems project completed. I found the explanations of workflow analysis, along with the development of workflow diagrams using real-life examples, to be very valuable. The seminar was a great way to learn about the new product we will be using while building the groundwork for a successful implementation.

As a practicing emergency physician, I have successfully been using the MEDITECH MAGIC platform for CPOE and PDOC for over seven years. I was involved in the dictionary build for PDOC at our facility and participated in the decision making process to upgrade to 6.x. I am pleased to find that the READY implementation model has addressed not just technical issues, but the equally important issues of physician and staff engagement.

Finally, the ability to collaborate with consultant colleagues from other healthcare systems that are using 6.x is invaluable. I am confident that the time investment I made to attend the CLPP will return significant dividends as we move forward with our MEDITECH upgrade.”

Mitchell Rubinstein, MD, Vice President of Medical Affairs for The Valley Hospital, also found the seminar meaningful. “The group exercises were very thought-provoking,” he shares. “It was nice to interact with hospital staff from other organizations, engage in lively discussion, and learn from each other’s experiences.”
