A long-awaited Focus Group is gearing up this week—6.x Scribing within Physician Documentation. Given the increasing use of scribes in the ED, MEDITECH plans to expand our 6.x Physician Documentation tools to accommodate their workflow demands. We would love to hear about your current workflows, as well as any improvements you envision for the scribing process.

MEDITECH Physician Consultant* Laurence Spector, MD, practicing ED physician, will be moderating this new Focus Group. He recently commented, “I don’t see the use of scribes ever going away. The strict requirements for documenting care related to quality measures, coding, billing, and legal concerns has resulted in a significant increase in physicians' workloads. Scribes enable us to better manage the complexity of caseloads to meet today’s demands, particularly within an ED. Ultimately, they help us to improve the quality of healthcare we deliver.”
