New Code Management Solution Offers Many Benefits to Customers

February 9, 2016 - Historically, MEDITECH used an in-house code management tool known as the Development Tracking and Proposal System (DTS). Now, we’re excited to announce we have fully transitioned to a new solution we refer to as Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).

This system streamlines our development process and enables us to deliver changes in an agile manner. Customers will benefit from:

  • Nimble software delivery
  • Code collaboration across modules
  • An even more fully-tested and -vetted solution.

How Might This Impact You?

In addition to the benefits noted above, you can expect to see:

Changes to Documentation Search Tool

In May 2015, we announced the Release Documentation Search, which references both the old and new systems. Additionally, the Testing Statement and Expected Outcome sections of the Dev ID now outline what to test and the expected result. These sections account for different configurations and workflows, while keeping the information general and straightforward.

Updated Terminology
  • New code corrections are referred to as Dev IDs.
  • Proposals are called Ideas.
  • Development Design Projects (DDPs) or Master DDPs are referred to as Stories or a grouping of Stories.

Dev IDs have been streamlined with new mnemonics based on groupings of related applications called Functional Areas.

Task Management System Changes

  • A new Development ID section lists ALM code changes. Older DTSs will continue to be identified within the Related DTS section.
