From Hospitalist To IT Physician Consultant

Our very own Physician Consultant Ned Jaleel, DO, MMM, CPE was recently featured in an article on Today's Hospitalist about physicians leaving clinical practice.

The article, titled "New careers: Hospitalists make the leap from clinical practice," explores the emerging trend of physicians leaving their medical practice to pursue corporate roles in consulting and health IT.

Dr. Jaleel is the fourth commentary in the feature, in which he explains how he made the change from hospitalist to lead physician informaticist for MEDITECH. Jaleel says the switch from hospitalist medical director to corporate consultant was a big change for him, "But who better to design an EHR for a hospital than a hospitalist? We're intimately involved with the technology, and we understand physician workflow."
