Expanse Cam, MEDITECH’s photo app, enables physicians to efficiently capture and upload medical images directly into their documentation using the built-in camera on their smartphone or tablet. Fully encrypted and HIPAA-compliant, Expanse Cam makes it easy to supplement documentation with vivid clinical images — saving time on written descriptions, while enhancing care quality and improving patient satisfaction. Photos taken via Expanse Cam are uploaded to Expanse without ever being saved on the device.
With Expanse Cam, providers can:
- Launch the app on their phone or tablet camera directly within documentation
- Take a photo via their personal device
- Securely upload the image to their Expanse EHR
- Embed the photo directly into their documentation

How can I sign up?
Use of Expanse Cam requires authorized access to a MEDITECH Expanse EHR, and the system must be enabled for connection via the Expanse Cam app. Contact your information technology staff if you have questions about the availability of access.
Who is MEDITECH?
MEDITECH is a healthcare software company that provides an electronic health record system to healthcare providers. MEDITECH also powers your access to that information through Expanse Cam.
What should I do if I do not see my healthcare organization on the list of sites?
