MEDITECH/Change Healthcare: CareSelect Imaging Communication
To comply with the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 (PAMA), MEDITECH has collaborated with Change Healthcare (formerly NDSC) to streamline the licensing and activation of features required for compliance. Change Healthcare offers a widely-adopted, market-validated solution for delivery of national standard imaging guidelines within MEDITECH.
A CMS ruling defines that only Provider-Led Entities (PLE) may publish Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC). An initial list of approved PLEs includes the American College of Radiology (ACR), the National Comprehensive Cancer Care Network (NCCN), and the American College of Cardiology (ACC).

MEDITECH's API solution to utilize the Change Healthcare's imaging clinical design support guidelines is geared to help you meet CMS requirements to promote an AUC program for any "advanced diagnostic imaging service." Recent News and Updates
Update 7/13/23:
- For 2024, CMS proposes to pause implementation of the AUC program for reevaluation and rescind the current AUC program regulations from § 414.94. CMS expects this to be a hard pause to facilitate thorough program reevaluation and, as such, CMS is not proposing a time frame within which implementation efforts may recommence.
