Optimising Physician Documentation in the EDM

Q: Can you pull PDOC templates into NPR?
A: The PCM DPM’s are available for NPR, however specifics need to be discussed with a Report Writer Specialist. Report Writer can assist facilities if they want to convert files, as they can export NPR data. However, in some cases, because PDOC is not necessarily generating data but often storing it (admissions information, labs, medications, etc) Report Writer may want to deal specifically with the respecting applications (ADM, LAB, PHA etc.).

Q: What vendor is used to utilize spell check?
A: Stedman’s Plus Spellchecker product is available for use with MAGIC 4.71 release and higher. The customer licenses the Stedman’s Plus Spellchecker directly from the Publisher, not MEDITECH. There are no additional MEDITECH license fees required to support Stedman’s Plus Spellchecker. After the customer licenses the Stedman’s product, the publisher will provide the customer with a password and the Stedman’s wordlist file can then be downloaded from the Internet by going to the Customer Service area of www.MEDITECH.com. The spellchecker functionality will be available in any module that support the Meditor toolbar, including PDOC.

Q: If an allergy is updated in PDoc, will it update NUR?
A: If the allergy query that is used in NUR is the same used in PDOC and broadcasted in the parameters, the field will be updated.
 
Q: Is there anyway to alter the output of the summary?
A: The output of the template summary will reflect the order of sections in the template. The flexibility with editing includes how you want data to display in terms of lists or tables, as well as if you want the section headings to display.  In addition, you are able to create customized headings and footers in OE to attach to the templates.
 
Q: Can you view multiple templates under one full report? (one visit)
A: Signed and filed reports can be viewed together via Clinical Review. First, the user will see a list of signed reports. You can only view one template at a time,  however they are listed in reverse chronological order and you can easily navigate using ‘previous’ and ‘next’ buttons to view the documents.
