Optimising Physician Documentation Templates

Q: Is Stedman’s spell check functionality used in PDOC?
A: Stedman’s Plus Spellchecker product is available for use with MAGIC 4.71 release and higher. The customer licenses the Stedman’s Plus Spellchecker directly from the Publisher, not MEDITECH. There are no additional MEDITECH license fees required to support Stedman’s Plus Spellchecker. After the customer licenses the Stedman’s product, the publisher will provide the customer with a password and the Stedman’s wordlist file can then be downloaded from the internet by going to the Customer Service area of www.MEDITECH.com. The spellchecker functionality will be available in any module that support the Meditor toolbar, including PDOC.

Q: Can ORM fields be pulled in PDOC? Specifically, certain Theatre procedures?
A: Currently, ORM fields are not pulled into Clinical Review (EPS). Since the Physician Documentation modules pulls data from the EPS module, you are not able to automatically populate these fields. They could only be pulled in if previously documented the response as a recall Query.

Q: What are PDOC Protocols?
A: Protocol in physician documentation is clinical information attached to a template that may be beneficial for the consultant to view when documenting on a particular problem. Directly from the template, the consultant can choose the “View Protocol” button to review the information and if desired, copy and paste information into the template. Review KB 36608 for Protocol setup and use.

Q: Can more than one protocol be added to a template?
A: Protocol is not required for every template, but you may only have one protocol per template.

Q: Is there a parameter that controls the number of days that the template is available for edits after it has been filed?
A: ESigned is the final status of a document. Any changes or new information to be added to the document must be done through an addendum. No edits are permitted once the document is at an ESigned status.

Q: Can you import images of consultants scanned signatures?
A: There is currently no standard way to pull in a scanned signature. However, from the Meditor toolbar, there is a functionality to add an image from the desktop. It is a possible workaround to save the scan on the PC/Desktop and insert the image if desired.

Q: Is there a limit on the number of letters that need to be set for a pin?
A: A pin number must be at least four characters.

Q: Can you edit standard content?
A: Once standard content is delivered, the customer can edit the content as they see fit. Please review KB 29959 for information of Picture standard content
