Improving Consultant Workflow

Q: Is provider messaging linked to Mox Mail?
A: Inter-provider messaging is not linked to Mox Mail.  Inter-provider messaging is user based and is always patient specific. Once a message is complete, the message becomes part of the patient’s record and can be viewed in Clinical Review.

Q: Does provider messaging show within PCI?
A: Provider messaging is not viewable within PCI, only through PWM and Clinical Review.

Q: Can the sign-up functionality be restricted to users?
A: Once enabled in the PCM Toolbox, there will be specific prompts available in the MIS User Dictionary to define what signup features are available.

Q: Does the electronic pin have to be changed?
A: There are no expiration dates for user PINs as there are for user passwords.

Q: Where are the order sets available in POM created?
A: Order sets are built within OE. In the OE Dictionaries, there is a dictionary called Order Sets. In order to be used in POM, Physician must be defined in the “Order By” prompt.

Q: Which department in a hospital typically manages the order set?
A: There is great documentation available pertaining to order sets on our product & resource page: https://www.meditech.com/prpcm/pages/PCMmiFEimpstrategies.htm

Q: Once an order set is created on the fly, is it only available to the user?
A: When a consultant creates an order set on the fly, that order set is now saved in provider favorites and is only viewable to that specific user. However, there is a routine “Copy Favorite Sets” within OE where you can share consultant built sets with other consultants.
