Delivery Server Change Update

July 29, 2020 - As part of MEDITECH's continued effort to improve Network Security and increase the up-time of our customer update infrastructure, changes will take place which require that the public IP of one of our Update Delivery servers (sbroute.meditech.com) be changed.

Following this change, customers with firewalls/web filters — which have not been configured to let the new IP (35.227.196.190) through — will no longer be able to receive certain application- and system-level updates to their MEDITECH environments.

Customers who have configured their firewall to allow the hostname (sbroute.meditech.com) through their firewalls should not be affected. This first phase of this change took place on June 1 at 7 a.m. ET. At that time, the new IP address of sbroute.meditech.com (35.227.196.190) was added to public DNS.

For two months, both the new and old public IP addresses will work. On August 1, the old IP address (208.206.3.234) will be removed from the public DNS and will no longer work. If you have any questions regarding this issue, please contact your Technical Account Manager. More information is available for the record.

Domain Name System (DNS) Changes

Additionally, MEDITECH is changing our DNS provider for certain public internet domain name records (e.g., ehr.meditech.com - 205.145.159.50) from AT&T to GoDaddy. The transition is happening on Friday night, August 7 at 10 p.m. ET.

New records tend to propagate to the internet from 4 to 48 hours. We don't expect any meaningful interruption of access. Customers do not have to do anything as your existing bookmarks will continue to work after the update.

As always, if certain internet-based services are briefly unavailable, call us at 781-821-3000. Thank you!
