Change Brings a New Synergy to MEDITECH (9/12)

Small Changes, Big Impact on Parameters

September 22, 2014 - In June 2014, we announced the creation of new 5.x parameter documentation, both for Toolbox Parameters and Customer-Defined Parameters. Our goal was to raise awareness and reduce potential impact of parameter changes, especially those denoted as [High Impact]. This ensures you are knowledgeable on system changes that could potentially affect your patients or hospital operations.

Our efforts to improve our parameter-related documentation and processes have not slowed down. Check out the most recent changes here:

  • All parameters marked as [High Impact] now include action items when appropriate, such as needing MEDITECH to perform a space evaluation or run a utility prior to making the parameter change.
  • Parameter documentation has been updated through the MAGIC and Client/Server 5.66 Priority Pack 10 releases.
  • Additional recommended settings have been added.
  • Square brackets were placed around [High Impact] details (previously marked in red) to more clearly delineate the impact when printing the parameter documentation.
