March 12, 2015 - Becker’s Hospital Review’s recently published an interview with Mark Richard, CIO at McLaren Port Huron Hospital (Port Huron, MI). As part of Becker’s “Life of a Healthcare CIO” series, the interview focused on McLaren Port Huron’s decision to replace multiple stand-alone systems with MEDITECH’s one integrated EHR solution.

In 14 months, the hospital went LIVE with 6.x, became fully operational with CPOE, and implemented voice recognition software. Mr. Richard  also discussed the importance of stakeholder buy-in, lessons learned, and his favorite part of the health IT industry.

Congrats to Mr. Richard and McLaren Port Huron Hospital for being profiled in Becker’s Hospital Review’s “Life of a Healthcare CIO” series. 

 

February 18, 2015 - Becker's Hospital Review recently ran an interview with Eric Carey, CIO of Valley Health System. As part of the Life of a CIO series, the interview takes a closer look at Valley's migration implementation to the 6.x platform. Mr. Carey also discusses the challenges he faces as CIO and the expansion of their IT efforts over the years.

January 22, 2015 A recent article from Healthcare Finance discusses four hot healthcare topics and includes input from MEDITECH customer Schneck Medical Center.

In the article, Debbie Ridlen, CFO, discusses evolving healthcare trends facing hospitals in 2015 like insurance exchanges, payment models, and technology. The integrated health network at Schneck Medical is enabling healthcare providers to collect data both at the hospital and from multiple providers in the community.

 

 

December 22, 2014 Once again this holiday season, MEDITECHers are working with several local organizations to help families in need. By donating everything from grocery store gift cards, to toys for young children, and warm winter clothes, MEDITECH staff are celebrating this season of giving by reaching out to their neighbors.

November 14, 2014 - Healthcare IT News recently released its annual "Best Hospital IT Departments" list. Of the Top 20 Organizations, seven use MEDITECH's EHR, making MEDITECH the leading vendor for these exceptional IT departments! 

The winners were divided into four categories: Super (200+ IT employees), Large (76-199 IT employees), Medium (26-75 IT employees), and Small (less than 26 IT employees). 

MEDITECH was the only EHR vendor to have representation in all four categories. 

 

Best Practices
November 3, 2014 - MEDITECH strongly advises that healthcare organizations follow the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to have processes and protocols in place for proper Ebola screening and documentation. 

MEDITECH has developed Best Practices to ensure care teams have the proper workflows in place for comprehensive and effective Ebola screening.
