October 29, 2014 - MEDITECH is pleased to celebrate 30 years of partnership with Regional Health (Rapid City, SD). As an integrated healthcare system made up of more than 40 entities, Regional Health provides a continuum of care through its hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities throughout western South Dakota and neighboring Wyoming. Additionally, the organization is deploying MEDITECH’s Home Health and Hospice solutions, helping to further create efficiencies and streamline patient care transitions.
“When we were first searching for an IT system, MEDITECH clearly stood above other vendors in terms of integration, cost, capabilities, and prospects for future development,” says Richard Stracqualursi, Executive Director, Corporate Services Fiscal Services.
“Thirty years later, it’s still true—MEDITECH is keeping pace with today’s challenges and evolving healthcare models, offering innovative solutions that are still practical and affordable.”
Elaine Fuhrmann, Director, Corporate Services Accounting, remembers being a part of the search committee that selected MEDITECH in 1984. “We had no idea at the time that our choice would result in such a strong relationship with an IT vendor. We were used to changing systems every three years or so,” she says.
“Over the years, we’ve been recognized by both the Joint Commission and the American Heart Association for our care quality efforts, and MEDITECH has been such an important part of our patient safety mission.”
Stracqualursi adds, “In the rapidly changing American healthcare environment, we can’t predict what our organization will become in the future. However, we know from over 30 years of experience, MEDITECH will meet our health IT needs.”
