Realizing the Promise of Genomic Data in Medical Care
The human genome project initiated a wave of research into the genetic basis of human disease with enormous potential for altering medical care. Today, we are seeing the effects of the years of technological and research advances come to fruition, including the growth of a sector serving the medical providers with genome analysis as-a-service.

During her keynote address, Sarah will review the landscape of this growing field and how genomics is being used in the medical setting, from the identification of major increases in the risk of cancer to whole-genome sequencing of individuals with rare or previously unseen conditions. She will also discuss how the challenges of integrating genomics data into the digital medical records will be possible, and what its true value will be in the treatments of every patient.
